Frequently Asked Questions

What organization governs the school?

LIFE is under the legal coverage of the Christian Schools in Spain (CSS) association. The school is running by a Board of Trustees.

What are LIFE's credentials?

We are also fully accredited by the U.S. based Middle States Association (MSA) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Therefore, upon graduation, our students are eligible to receive diplomas recognized by both Spain and the United States.

Is the school bilingual?

We are an English immersion school, therefore, all classes are taught 100% in English by native English-speaking teachers. If necessary, students are provided with the necessary linguistic support to succeed in the different subjects. Starting in first grade, one hour of Spanish Language and Culture is incorporated into the curriculum every day.

Will students from LIFE be able to transfer into Spanish schools, and ultimately enroll in Spanish university?

Yes LIFE International School was established as a Foreign School in Spain. As such, LIFE is recognized by the Comunidad de Madrid and the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) under license number 28078353. Therefore, all transcripts and school records from LIFE can be validated under Spanish law.

How will technology be incorporated into learning?

In the early stages of child development, our philosophy is that children do not need more exposure to technology than they are receiving at home. Therefore, technology will be introduced when the students begin in elementary school.

What are your plans for a facility (short term and long term)?

Our current facilities are not permanent and are being expanded as the school grows. Simultaneously, plans are underway to move LIFE to a permanent, purpose-built facility designed to accommodate the school’s long-term growth.

Why combine faith with education?

We believe that all forms of education and all educators have a particular perspective or worldview. It may not always be obvious or overtly stated, but it will shape how things are understood and how things are communicated. . Education is not neutral; information is always presented from a particular lens or perspective which either includes or excludes God. Christian education includes God, therefore inviting students to see and understand the world through the perspective of God’s truth, the Bible.

Do students have to believe what you believe?

No. LIFE is open to all children and families who value the educational model that we offer. Neither parents nor students have to believe what we believe, but they must understand that LIFE is a Christian school and that Christian values and principles will be interwoven into communication and instruction.

A diverse student body is a valuable component of education. Students are most able to understand, appreciate, and respect differences in a setting that includes these differences. LIFE School does not discriminate based on individual differences of race, color, sex, religion and national or ethnic origin. Students are accepted on a space available basis.

Can parents visit the classrooms?

Yes. Parents are always welcome to observe your child’s busy classroom! Parent participation and involvement is one of the primary keys to a successful education. Also, we want parents to see and experience the culture of LIFE International School. Parents may contact the school at any time to set an appointment.

How can parents be involved in LIFE?

We have a parent group, independent of the school, called PALS (Parents of LIFE School Students) with whom we collaborate to optimize what we can offer our students. They volunteer their time and play a very important role in the school’s life because their main aim is to create a community.
